ASUS have introduced two new motherboards to the ROG line for Intel’s 4th Generation Core CPUs and Chipsets (Haswell) – the Hero and the Impact. Today officially marks the release of the Maximus VI Impact – a mini-ITX motherboard featuring a strong amount of ROG features:
– VRM daughter board to increase PCB area,
– Discrete SupremeFX Sound PCB designed not to interfere with a GPU
– mPCIe Combo II card, featuring an 802.11ac WiFi card and an M.2 Connector
– Impact Control card with Power/Reset buttons, two digit debug LED, ROG Connect and BIOS Flashback functionality
In terms of software, we get Sonic Radar, a new addition to allow FPS users to see on-screen where sounds are coming from (other people shooting in the same map, for example). We also have ROG RAMDisk that allows 80% of a computer’s RAM to act as a virtual drive, and SSD Secure Erase that lets SSDs be restored to out-of-the-box performance.
The ASUS Maximus VI Impact is available today at Amazon for £197.
