I am always monitor browsing. If it’s not for my next testing monitor, I’m considering a 2×2 arrangement for 4K, or looking at something with silly resolution densities like the IBM T221. However, something did catch my eye, and it was a very big WTF moment. This new range of wide 29″ monitors could be described as a fad, but it is picking up pace and companies are coming out with new models. But if you want one, today, in 2560×1080 resolution, then the Dell U2913WM is available at Amazon.co.uk for £350 (+£15 del, or £375 direct from Amazon).
Along with the 2560×1080 resolution, as it’s a Dell, we get HDMI, DVI-D, DisplayPort 1.2, mDP, VGA, four USB 3.0 ports, tilt/swivel capability and VESA compatible. There is also out-of-the-factory precalibration as well.
LG’s monitor is available at £380, but around this price range are all the 2560×1440 27″ Korean panels from ebay, and I’m looking more towards the 2560×1600 panels which nudge in under £500. Perhaps I should put two or three of these together…?
